Ashland, Va. -- The University of Lynchburg women's tennis team dropped a tightly-contested match on the road against Randolph-Macon Wednesday.
The Hornets lost 4-3 to the Yellow Jackets.
After doubles, Lynchburg trailed 2-1. Lara Karrass and Alexa Hardesty beat their opponents at the second flight 8-3.
The Hornets won at the top-two singles flights. Elizabeth Teefey won 6-3, 6-3 at No. 1, and Ashley Hair won 6-2, 6-1 at No. 2. Teefey owns a four-match winning streak at the first flight.
Alexa Hardesty grabbed Lynchburg's fourth point at No. 4.
Grace Teefey won her first set at the fifth flight but dropped the next two.
Lynchburg (5-5, 2-3 ODAC) wraps up its five-match road trip against Virginia Wesleyan on Sunday, March 26.
