Hilton Head Island, S.C. -- The University of Lynchburg women's tennis teams fell 8-1 Thursday afternoon.
Elizabeth Teefey on Lynchburg's only point of the day against Bethel. She won at the top flight 4-6, 6-4, 1-0 (7). With the match already in hand for Bethel, Teefey forced a tiebreak with a win in the second set and won 10-7.
Ashley Hair and Reese McAtee played the closed match in doubles action with a 4-8 loss at the third flight.
Hair lost 2-6, 0-6 at the second flight. Lara Karrass dropped her singles match at 4-6, 3-6 at No. 3. Grace Teefey also played a close one at the fifth flight, but lost 3-6, 4-6.
The Hornets (4-4, 2-2 ODAC) play their final match in South Carolina against Webster on Friday, March 17 at 8:30 a.m.
