Lynchburg, Va. -- The University of Lynchburg women's tennis team defeated Shenandoah 7-2 on Saturday night.
Lynchburg took two out of three during doubles play with Lara Karrass and Alexa Hardesty winning at No. 2 and Ashley Hair and Reese McAtee winning at No. 3.
Hair also won her singles match at the second flight with scores of 6-2, 6-1. Hardesty and Grace Teefey won by the same scores at their No. 4 and No. 5 matches with 6-4, 6-1 finals.
Karrass won the first set at the third flight but dropped the second. She took the third set 6-2 to clinch her third singles match on the season.
Jordan Ottaviano also played a close match at No. 6. After winning the first set 7-5, she needed a tiebreaker set to take down her opponent and won the tiebreak 10-8.
The Hornets (3-3, 2-2 ODAC) travel to Roanoke, Va. for a match with Hollins on Friday, March 10 at 3 p.m.
