Sweet Briar, Va. -- The University of Lynchburg women's tennis team fell 9-0 against Sweet Briar Wednesday afternoon.
Senior Elizabeth Teefey played two close matches in the loss. She checked in at the top-doubles flight with her sister, Grace Teefey. The seniors fell by a score of 6-8. Teefey also played at the top-singles flight. She was narrowly edged out 5-7, 6-7 (5). Grace Teefey played singles at No. 5, and also found herself in a close match falling 1-6, 5-7.
Ashley Hair and Lara Karrass played at No. 2 doubles, and Alexa Hardesty and Jordan Ottaviano teamed up at No. 3.
Lynchburg (2-3, 1-2 ODAC) hosts Shenandoah next on Saturday, March 4 at Crosswhite Athletic Club. First serve is scheduled for 1 p.m. The men's team will also be in action that day against Shenandoah.
