Hilton Head, S.C. -- The University of Lynchburg men's tennis team won its fourth-straight match Thursday afternoon with a 7-2 decision over Bethel.
The Hornets matched their longest win streak since winning four in a row to start the 2018-19 season.
Alex Rintoul and Sebastian Sierra Valencia kicked off the day with an 8-4 win at No. 2 doubles.
However, Lynchburg dropped its other two doubles matches and had some ground to make up in singles.
The Hornets responded by sweeping singles action. Levi Vigdorchik won his seventh-straight singles match at the top flight. Emile Paindavoine won 6-3, 6-3 at the second flight, his first win at No. 2. Lauren Muhlhause dropped his first set at No. 3 but bounced back in the second and won in a tiebreak for the third set.
Sierra Valencia won 6-3, 7-5 at No. 4, Rintoul won handily at No. 5, and Christian Zepeda only dropped two games at No. 6.
The Hornets (5-2, 2-0 ODAC) look to extend their win streak on Friday, March 17 against Webster.
