Hilton Head Island, S.C. -- The University of Lynchburg men's tennis team took down St. Mary's (Md.) 8-1 on Tuesday morning.
Playing their first match of the Spring Tennis Fest, the Hornets swept singles play and took two of three in doubles.
Levi Vigdorchik and Lauren Muhlhause won handily at the top-doubles flight 8-1, and Cooper Brewen and Dan Hardy won 8-5 at No. 3.
Vigdorchik won his sixth-straight match at the top-singles flight. Lauren Muhlhause got his third win of the season at the second flight. Emile Paindavoine won 6-2, 6-1 at No. 3, and Sebastian Sierra won 6-0, 7-5 at the fourth flight.
Christian Zepeda's opponent took him to three sets, but the sophomore won the tiebreak 10-4. Alex Rintoul rounded out the lineup with a victory at No. 6 only dropping one game.
The Hornets (4-2, 2-0 ODAC) continue spring break with a matchup against Bethel (Minn.) at 1 p.m. on Thursday, March 16.
