Lynchburg, Va. -- University of Lynchburg's men's tennis team began the 2023 portion of its schedule with a clean sweep of visiting Mary Baldwin, winning 9-0 Sunday at Crosswhite Athletic Club. The Hornets dropped just one game in the entire match.
Lynchburg's top doubles flight of Levi Vigdorchik and Lauren Muhlhause won 8-0, as did No. 2 pair Carter McCleary and Patricio Zepeda. The third-flight pair of Dan Hardy and Christian Zepeda earned an 8-1 win as the Hornets finished doubles play in control of the match.
The Hornets put the match away quickly in singles play, with Vigdorchik, Muhlhause, and Emile Paindavoine winning 6-0, 6-0 at the top three singles flights. Lynchburg continued its dominance at the bottom end of the lineup with Sebastian Sierra, Cooper Brewen, and Alex Rintoul also earning shutout wins.
Lynchburg (1-1) continues the non-conference season with a trip to Division II Emory & Henry Wednesday at 1 p.m.
