Winchester, Va. -- University of Lynchburg's men's soccer team remained undefeated on the 2022 season Wednesday night with a 3-1 Old Dominion Athletic Conference win at Shenandoah.
SU took an early lead with a 16th-minute goal, but Lynchburg tied the match in the 24th minute on a penalty kick from Luke Mega, his conference-leading eighth goal of the season. The score remained 1-1 through the end of the first half, but Lynchburg controlled the play, out-shooting their hosts by a 10-1 margin.
The Hornets didn't take long to take an advantage after halftime. Manzi Shalita scored in the 55th minute to give Lynchburg the lead, and the visitors added late insurance when Mega assisted Carter Averette's goal in the 85th minute.
Mega led all players with four shots as Lynchburg earned its 15th-consecutive win over SU.
Lynchburg (5-0-4, 2-0 ODAC) will hit the road again Saturday for a 1 p.m. conference match at Virginia Wesleyan.
