Fredericksburg, Va. -- University of Lynchburg's women's tennis standout Christina Harris fell twice over the weekend at the ITA Southeast Regional Women's Championship at University of Mary Washington.
Harris entered the tournament seeded sixth in the tournament but couldn't build on the momentum she gained last year, when she reached the regional quarterfinals. The senior fell in the first round, 6-3, 2-6, 6-4, to Alexandria Iordache of Carnegie Mellon.
Christopher Newport's Olivia Reed then knocked Harris out of the consolation bracket by an 8-4 score.

Harris and the Lynchburg women's tennis team will now set their sights on the spring season, where the Hornets will look to repeat unprecedented success. Lynchburg reached the Old Dominion Athletic Conference's championship match for the first time in program history in 2019, and Harris won the program's first-ever ODAC player of the year award for her efforts.
The Hornets' 2020 schedule will be released later this fall.
