Harrisonburg, Va-- The Univeristy of Lynchburg women's soccer team won their third straight match Saturday afternoon with a 5-0 shutout over Eastern Mennonite University.
Lynchburg (7-3-1, 3-1 ODAC) scored four or more goals for the third match in a row as five Hornets scored in the win with freshman Megan Dee scoring her first two career goals in the victory.
Only two minutes into the second half, junior MJ Lyons scored an unassisted goal to extend the Hornets' lead to 2-0. Later in the half, Dee scored her first career goal off an assist from senior Sarah Crider. Not even a minute later, Dee scored her second goal of the match on an assist from fellow freshman Alyssa Damato, extending the lead to 4-0.
Junior Dana Seavey cemented the Hornets' victory with her second goal of the season on an assist from Dee.
The Hornets not only continued their win streak, but continued their streak of 25 or more shots in their last three games by outshooting the Royals 25-5 on Saturday. Lynchburg outscored their opponents by a combined score of 14-1 in their last three games.
The University of Lynchburg women's soccer team will be back in action on Tuesday, Oct. 15 as they take on the Panthers of Ferrum College at 7 p.m. in another Old Dominion Athletic Conference match.
