Randolph-Macon tops women's basketball

Ashland, Va. -- University of Lynchburg's women's basketball team opened 2020 with a loss Thursday evening, falling 75-53 at Randolph-Macon in Old Dominion Athletic Conference play.

Erin Green led the Hornets with 16 points and five rebounds, while Lizzie Davis (15 points) and Carolyn Noe (12 points) joined her in double figures.

R-MC (3-6, 2-2 ODAC) got 22 points and five rebounds out of Michal Ross.

Lynchburg (6-5, 3-2) found itself at an early 6-0 disadvantage and never could recover. The Yellow Jackets pushed the lead to 38-29 by halftime and led by as many as 26 late in the contest.

The Hornets will jump back into non-conference action Saturday, Jan. 4 at home versus Johns Hopkins at 4:30 p.m.
