Daytona Beach, Fla. -- Abby Oguich collected 11 points and 15 rebounds in University of Lynchburg's women's basketball team's 60-56 loss to No. 18-ranked Marymount Saturday at the Daytona Beach Shootout.
The double-double was Oguich's second of the season, and the sophomore added five assists to her line the in the standout effort. Junior Maggie Quarles also tallied 11 points in the game, as did sophomore Lizzie Davis.
Trailing most of the game, Lynchburg rallied to bring the deficit to two, 55-53, after Carolyn Noe's 3 with 4:40 remaining. Marymount maintained the lead late, however, to hang on for the victory.
The Hornets (6-4) will return to action in the new year, Thursday, Jan. 2, in a resumption of Old Dominion Athletic Conference play at Randolph-Macon. Tip-off is set for 7 p.m. in Ashland.
