Salem, Va. -- The Old Dominion Athletic Conference has altered the schedule for this weekend's conference softball tournament with the threat of wet weather in the forecast for Friday, the league office announced.

The tournament will now begin at 6 p.m. Friday evening with an expanded Saturday schedule and the potential for the bracket to push into Monday should the "if necessary" game be required to decide the conference title.

All games will still be at the James I. Moyer Sports Complex in Salem, Va.

University of Lynchburg, the No. 3 seed, will now take on sixth-seeded Guilford in Game 4 of the tournament Friday at 8 p.m. on Field 3.

The Hornets will play just one game Friday no matter the outcome with the potential for three Saturday.

A first-round victory would push Lynchburg into Game 8 at 1:30 p.m. Saturday, while a loss would send the Hornets into an 11:30 a.m. loser-out ballgame.

The tournament is a true double-elimination format with eight teams.

Lynchburg enters postseason play with a 30-10 record and is ranked No. 5 in the Atlantic Region and No. 20 in the National Fastpitch Coaches Association top 25 poll.

The Hornets are looking for the program's first ODAC championship since 2009 and the first back-to-back NCAA tournament appearances since 2013 and 2014.
