Lynchburg Men Rally for 77-71 Win Over Shenandoah
After trailing for most of the contest leading up to the break, the Hornets regained the lead following a 15-5 run to open the second half, taking a 46-45 advantage. Although Lynchburg led the rest of the way, Shenandoah cut the deficit to two with under four minutes left, but free throws from Arnold and Graves in the closing seconds sealed the win for the Hornets.
Antwan Pittman led Shenandoah offensively, scoring a game-high 20 points to go along with three rebounds for the Hornets (5-18, 2-12). Malcolm Clark contributed 17 points, eight boards and three assists on the day. Lynchburg held Shenandoah to just 41.3% shooting from the field, including 27.6% (8-29) from three-point range.
Lynchburg (17-6, 10-4) returns home to host Roanoke College Wednesday at 7 p.m. in a critical ODAC matchup. With a victory, the Hornets would draw even with the Maroons for second place with just one game remaining in regular season play.
