Zack Burnett and Alex Graves combine for 48 as LC Men Knock off Randolph 79-66
Lynchburg closed the half on an 11-3 run to forge a 40-30 lead at intermission. The Hornets held a double-figure lead for most of the second half, and pushed the advantage to 16 at one point midway through the stanza. The WildCats clawed back to trail by only eight (72-64) with 2:52 remaining. LC put the game away with a lay-up from Omar Kemp and a steal and two free throws by A.J. Hamilton.
Burnett scored 15 of his game-high 25 in the second half, and made 10-of-16 shots from the floor with four assists and two steals. Graves hit 11 of his 18 field goal attempts and pulled down a game-high 12 rebounds. Senior guard Daniel Rowe hit all three of his three-point shots and ended with 11 points, while Lyndon White snared nine rebounds and handed out six assists. Hamilton scored seven points while Austen Arnold had six points.
Zach Desgain scored a team-high 23 points with five rebounds and three assists for Randolph (8-6/2-3 ODAC). Ryan Fields netted nine points with five rebounds and Josh Freund added seven points.
Lynchburg shot 54 percent from the floor (32-59) and held Randolph to just 38 percent (20-53) from the floor.
The Hornets (10-4/3-2 ODAC) host Bridgewater College Saturday at 4:30 p.m. in more ODAC play.
