Forest, Va. -- For the second time this season, the Old Dominion Athletic Conference's field hockey player of the week honor belongs to University of Lynchburg's Emily Dudley, the ODAC office announced Monday afternoon.
The junior from Westminster, Md., scored a goal in both Hornet victories last week. She provided a key insurance goal in Friday night's 2-0 ODAC-opening win over Randolph-Macon and accounted for all of the scoring Sunday in a 1-0 Hornets victory over No. 12 Christopher Newport.
Dudley currently ranks second on the team and eighth in the league with six goals this season, and her 39 shots this season put her tied for fifth on the ODAC leaderboard.
The weekly honor is Dudley's second of the season; the junior also captured the ODAC player of the week award Sept. 9.
Lynchburg field hockey players have laid claim to three of the ODAC's six weekly awards thus far this season. The Hornets received votes in the most recent National Field Hockey Coaches Association's top 20 poll.
