Bridgewater, Va. -- Lynchburg College's volleyball team fell 3-1 in a strong Old Dominion Athletic Conference match up against the Bridgewater Eagles Saturday afternoon, ending the Hornets impressive six game winning streak.
Sophomore Sydney Frink (Chester, Va.) led the Hornets with 12 kills, three digs, and two block assists.
Senior setter Lynn Walsh (Columbia, Md) collected 16 assists and 15 digs for Lynchburg.
Final: Bridgewater 3, Lynchburg 1 (25-21, 25-23, 23-25, 25-20)

HOW IT HAPPENED
Bridgewater took the lead in the first set, but Lynchburg fought from behind tying up the set four different times. The Hornets came up just short and the Eagles took the first set 25-21.
The Hornets gave Bridgewater a run for their money in the second set. Bridgewater called timeout once Lynchburg brought the score to 20-24. LC came out of the huddle winning the next two points, but Bridgewater took the win on an error.
After an eight point run in the third set Lindsey Lang (Poquoson, Va.) stopped the rally with a kill making the score 5-13. The Hornets then climbed their way back to the top to win their first set of the night 25-23.
Now on a roll, Lynhcburg took the lead in the fourth set (8-5), but it didn't last long as Bridgewater went on to win the set 25-19.
Next week the Hornets will be back home to face Mary Washington October 25 at 7 p.m. in Turner Gymnasium.
