LC Volleyball Takes Two to Finish Perfect at St. Mary's Tourney

ST. MARY'S CITY, MD - The Lynchburg College volleyball team swept a pair of matches Saturday afternoon at the St. Mary's College (MD) Seahawk Invitational to finish the two-day event perfect with four wins and no losses. The wins also assure LC of its third 20-win season in the last five years.

LC defeated Muhlenberg College (PA) in the opener Saturday 25-18, 25-13, 25-14. Senior Rachel Huffman had eight kills and Casey Parrish delivered seven kills. Rachel Turk had 17 assists, Brooke Moughon had 13 and Molly Deacon had 13 digs.

The Hornets defeated the host school St. Mary's 25-21, 25-20, 25-21 to win the tournament's team title. Parrish compiled 12 kills and 13 digs, Moughon had 12 assists, three services aces and nine digs while Turk had 20 assists and eight digs. Aricquel Payne and Rebecca Loftis had nine and seven kills, respectively, and Deacon tallied 22 digs.

LC (20-9) hosts Guilford College Wednesday night in an Old Dominion Athletic Conference (ODAC) Tournament first-round match. The Hornets, seeded third in the eight-team, single elimination bracket, square off with the Quakers at 7 p.m. in Turner Gymnasium.
