LC Volleyball Wins Ninth-Straight Over Roanoke in Four

LYNCHBURG, VA – Freshman Aricquel Payne and junior Rebecca Loftis combined for 29 kills Wednesday evening as the Lynchburg college volleyball team defeated visiting Roanoke College 23-25, 25-19, 25-14, 25-17 in an Old Dominion Athletic Conference (ODAC) match.

Payne tallied a match-high 15 kills with 10 blocks and three service aces, while Loftis delivered 14 kills with just one error and four blocks. Rachel Huffman and Casey Parrish each had eight kills and Parrish added 15 digs. Rachel Turk compiled 23 assists and four service aces, Brooke Moughon had 22 assists and Molly Deacon had a game-high 18 digs. Mallory Stewart totaled six kills and four blocks. As a team, the Hornets boasted a .319 hitting percentage.

Sarah long paced the Maroons (3-9/0-2 ODAC) with 11 kills and 11 digs, while Kelsey Largen added 10 kills and seven digs.  

The Hornets (9-1/4-0 ODAC) host a tri-match Saturday in Turner Gymnasium, facing the University of Mary Washington at 12:30 p.m. and Southern Virginia University at 3 p.m.
