Lynchburg, Va. -- The Lynchburg College women's tennis team picked up a key Old Dominion Athletic Conference victory Wednesday afternoon, taking down Bridgewater, 7-2, to improve to 4-0 in league play.
The win marks the fifth-straight victory for the Hornets.
"I'm so proud of our girls!" LC coach Chris Johnson said. "We talk a lot about things like trusting the process and mental strength. Our team got it right today. It was a big day for Hornets tennis!"
Lynchburg began the match with a sweep through the doubles matches and carried that momentum to take four of six in singles competition.
Lynchburg cemented the win with quick victories by sophomore Christina Harris (Falls Church, Va.) at No. 1, 6-1, 6-2, and Druebbisch at No. 5, 6-0, 6-3, but the Hornets weren't done.
