Hilton Head Island, S.C. -- The Lynchburg College women's tennis team got back on the winning track Wednesday morning with a 9-0 sweep of Nebraska Wesleyan at Hilton Head's Shipyard Racquet Club in their second match at the Spring Tennis Fest.

It was Lynchburg's third sweep in their last four matches.

The Hornets had no trouble in doubles action, sparked by 8-1 victories from sophomore Christina Harris (Falls Church, Va.) and freshman Caroline Guill (Louisa, Va.) at No. 1, junior Sarah Wyly (Leesburg, Va.), and sophomore Halle Lavieri (Killingworth, Conn.) at No. 2.

The bottom half of the singles lineup dominated, led by a 6-0, 6-1 win by junior Lilli Altenburg (Lexington, Va.) and Guill's 6-1, 6-1 win at No. 5.

Wyly won a hard-fought No. 2 match, 6-1, 4-6 (6), and freshman Emily Hoang (Sterling, Va.) also battled to a tiebreak win at No. 3, 6-3, 4-6 (7).

Lynchburg (4-3) will remain on Hilton Head over break, where they will next play St. John Fisher at 2 p.m. Thursday at the Hilton Head Beach & Tennis Resort.
