Greenwood, Ind. -- Lynchburg College women's lacrosse midfielder Dorrie MacGregor (Centreville, Md.) added another line to her rèsumè last week when she was named to the women's at-large Google Cloud Academic All-District list, selected by the College Sports Information Directors of America.

MacGregor was one of 10 women selected to the Division III District 5 team, consisting of athletes from Alabama, Arkansas, Florida, Georgia, Missouri, Mississippi, North Carolina, Puerto Rico, South Carolina, Tennessee, and Virginia. Women who compete in collegiate beach volleyball, bowling, crew/rowing, fencing, field hockey, golf, gymnastics, ice hockey, lacrosse, rifle, skiing, swimming, tennis, and water polo are eligible for the women's at-large teams. The awards are voted on by CoSIDA members.

A senior who just graduated with her degree in nursing, MacGregor carried a 3.94 cumulative GPA in her time at Lynchburg to go along with an impressive list of extracurricular activities, academic accomplishments, and honor societies.

She also made her mark on the field, breaking her own record for draw controls in a season (124) and also setting the program's career mark in the category (260). The midfielder was also third on the team in goals (34) and ground balls (35) and was selected as the Old Dominion Athletic Conference/Virginia Farm Bureau Insurance Scholar-Athlete of the Year and a first-team All-Chesapeake Region and All-ODAC pick.

MacGregor is Lynchburg's first women's at-large Academic All-District selection since field hockey's Shelly Milks made the team in 2013 and the first LC women's lacrosse player honored in the program since Caitlin Sarkisian was a third-team women's at-large Academic All-American in 1996.

The Academic All-District nod makes her eligible for the women's at-large Google Cloud Academic All-America teams, which will come out June 12. To view the full women's at-large Google Cloud Academic All-District teams, follow this link.
