Lynchburg, Va. -- The Lynchburg women's lacrosse team added another win to the books, defeating the Blue of Wellesley, 16-8, Wednesday afternoon.
Sophomore midfielder Kelsi Trevisan (West Chester, Pa.) dominated the field, scoring a career-high of five goals along with two assists. Junior midfielder Hannah Creasey (Virginia Beach, Va.) also reached a career-high with three goals.
Senior attackman Sidney Gleason (Dumfries, Va.) collected three assists and added one goal for the Hornets. Alicia Sandoval (Montclair, Va.), Dorrie MacGregor (Centreville, Md.), and Carly Sandler (Kennebunk, Maine) each contributed two goals of their own.
Final: Lynchburg 16, Wellesley 8

HOW IT HAPPENED
The Hornets exploded in the first half, scoring 14 goals. Creasey got the game going with an unassisted score in the first minute of play. The Hornets collected seven consecutive goals until Wellesley attackman Dacia Persky was able to score on a free position shot and get the Blue on the board. Lynchburg scored another seven goals after that and ended the first half with a comfortable 14-3 lead.
In the second half Wellesley managed to close the gap with five more goals, but it wasn't enough to come back as the Hornets won 16-8.
The Hornets will hit the road Friday and travel to Roanoke to play the Maroons on March 30 at 4 p.m.
