Westminster, Md. -- Lynchburg College's women's lacrosse team couldn't hang on to an early lead, falling 16-9 in non-conference action at McDaniel on Monday afternoon.
Senior midfielder Dorrie MacGregor (Centreville, Md.) led the LC offense with three goals, her second hat trick of the season, and 10 draw controls. Sophomore attackman Kelsi Trevisan (West Chester, Pa.) scored two goals and made two assists, and senior defender Cameron Harris (Short Hills, N.J.) picked up four ground balls and caused three turnovers.
Lynchburg out-shot the Green Terror by a 30-28 margin, but the Hornets were hampered by penalties, yielding three first-half man-down goals.

HOW IT HAPPENED
The Hornets looked good in the early going, taking leads of 2-1 and 4-3 in the first 15 minutes of play.
McDaniel scored six straight goals between the 13:46 and 8:01 marks in the first half -- three of them in man-up scenarios -- to take control. LC responded with goals by junior attackman Alicia Sandoval (Montclair, Va.) and MacGregror, but the Green Terror responded with three straight to go into halftime with a 12-6 lead.
The teams traded goals in the second half as McDaniel held onto the momentum. MacGregor polished off the LC scoring with 6:18 remaining, netting a free-position shot for her third score of the day.
Lynchburg will take 12 days away from game action, returning to play on Saturday, March 17 at Frostburg State in Frostburg, Md. The whistle will blow at noon.
