Forest, Va. -- Lynchburg College's women's lacrosse team enters the season picked fourth in the Old Dominion Athletic Conference, the league announced Tuesday with its preseason coaches poll.
Lynchburg received 43 points in the poll, two behind third-chosen Roanoke and 21 behind top-ranked defending conference champion Washington and Lee. The Generals received eight first-place votes, and second-chosen Randolph-Macon got the other. Shenandoah, Bridgewater, Guilford, Virginia Wesleyan, and Randolph round out the ballot.
The Hornets enter the 2018 season in search of their fourth-straight winning campaign. Coach Bruce Reid's squad was 9-8 in 2017 and reached the ODAC semifinals.
Lynchburg returns a trio of all-conference performers in junior attackman Alicia Sandoval (Montclair, Va.), senior midfielder Dorrie MacGregor (Centreville, Md.), and senior defender Rachel Henderson (Perry Hall, Md.).
The Hornets open up the season Saturday, Feb. 24 at home against Mary Washington. First draw will be at 1 p.m.
