Lynchburg and #4 Washington and Lee teamed up Saturday afternoon to support Play4TheCure, a charitable organization that supports cancer research.

Game Breakdown

- The Generals of Washington and Lee opened the game with four unanswered goals before sophomore Alicia Sandoval ended the run with an unassisted goal at 21:10

- After a W&L goal to make it 5-1, junior Dorrie MacGregor found the back of the net on a free position attempt at 18:42

- The Generals would go on 3-0 run to make it 8-2 before MacGregor scored her second goal of the game, assisted by Sandoval

- Sandoval would add another assist when sophomore Kelsey Nock brought the deficit to four goals with 12:12 remaining in the half

- At 3:56, senior Laura Meisner brought the Hornets within three goals of the Generals

- W&L would add a goal to end the 3-0 Hornet run with one minute left in the half

- The Generals would open the second half scoring three unanswered goals to go up 12-5

- Junior Sidney Gleason would score the lone second half goal for the Hornets at the 21:00 mark

- W&L would go on to score the next 5-0 goals and come away with a 17-6 victory over Lynchburg
