#17 W&L Outscores LC Women's Lacrosse 12-6

LEXINGTON, VA – The 17th-ranked Washington & Lee University women's lacrosse team defeated visiting Lynchburg College 12-6 Saturday in Old Dominion Athletic Conference (ODAC) action.

The Generals scored two early goals, but tallies from Bri Slate and Caroline Carozza evened the score at two all with 11 minutes left in the first half. W&L gained control of the contest by netting eight of the game's next nine goals.

Carozza had two scores on the day for the Hornets, and Ryland Scott, Slate, Caroline Kilby and Laura Meisner each also found the back of the net. Katherine Francis had three draw controls and Grace Finnerty scooped three ground balls.

Lauren Procaccino and Sammy Yates each had a hat trick for Washington & Lee (5-2/2-0 ODAC). Carly Taglienti posted five points with two goals and three assists. Cara Mulligan stopped nine LC shots and Olive Waxter had five draw controls.  

Lynchburg (2-3/1-1 ODAC) hosts Randolph-Macon College Wednesday at 7 p.m. in another ODAC match-up.
