Forest, Va. -- After another outstanding pair of games, Lynchburg women's basketball point guard Olivia DeFrancesco earned the Old Dominion Athletic Conference's Player of the Week award for the week ending Jan. 7.
The senior from Greensboro, N.C. scored in double figures in both of the Hornets' key ODAC wins this past week, with 13 points on the road Wednesday at Randolph and 19 at Bridgewater on Saturday.
She added 10 assists -- just the ninth 10-assist game in program history -- in Saturday's victory and was 7-for-12 from 3-point range for the two contests. She played 75 of the 80 minutes over the two games, including all 40 in the win over Bridgewater.
DeFrancesco is currently ranked second in the ODAC in assists and third in the league in minutes played. She leads the Hornets in both categories, as well as in 3-point makes (20), attempts (63), and 3-point shooting percentage (31.7).
Lynchburg returns to action on Wednesday at 5 p.m. at home against Roanoke College.
