Baltimore, Md. -- Olivia DeFrancesco (Greensboro, N.C.) canned the go-ahead 3-pointer with 1:48 remaining, and Lynchburg College's women's basketball team held on for a 58-56 victory over Albright's Lions in the 2017 Mike Durgala Memorial Basketball Tournament, hosted by Johns Hopkins University.

DeFrancesco finished with 10 points. Her senior classmates, Brittany Afolabi-Brown (Montgomery Village, Md.) and Caroline Naumann (Mechanicsville, Va.) led the way for the Hornets with 19 and 17 points, respectively. Naumann added 14 rebounds for her second double-double of the season and was named to the all-tournament team.

- Afolabi-Brown carried the scoring weight early with Naumann and DeFrancesco in foul trouble. The senior wing scored 10 points in the first quarter, helping LC to a 19-18 lead after 10 minutes of play.

- The LC offense sputtered before halftime, however, scoring just five points in the second period. Albright led 28-24 midway through.

- Naumann's return to the court spurred Lynchburg after intermission. The All-ODAC forward had seven points and seven rebounds in the third as LC leapt back in front, 39-38, entering the final period.

- The Lions battled to tie the game at 42 with 7:25 remaining, and the two teams traded the lead six times between that time and DeFrancesco canned the deciding 3 to break a 54-all tie. An Afolabi-Brown free throw tacked on the final Lynchburg point.

Lynchburg will take on the University of Mary Washington on Tuesday, Nov. 21 before heading into the Thanksgiving holiday break. Tip-off is set for 7 p.m. in Turner Gymnasium.
