Softball To Host Colon Cancer Awareness Game on Sunday

Lynchburg, Va. -- The Lynchburg Softball Program will host a Colorectal Cancer game in honor of Darrell Sandifer on Sunday

April 2nd against Eastern Mennonite University. The double header is set to begin at 1:30pm. Darrell is the father of Lynchburg College softball alum Dara Sandifer ('08 B.S., '10 M.Ed, '14 DPT). Darrell was diagnosed with colorectal cancer in the fall of 2016. Colorectal cancer is the second leading cause of death in cancers among men. The program has set up a GoFundMe page in support of Darrell with all proceeds going to the family. Click here to go to the GoFundMe page the team has setup to help with Darrell's fight against cancer.

Darrell and his family will be honored at the game and the team will be selling T-shirts (see above image) this week as well as at the game this Sunday, along with collecting donations the entirety of the doubleheader. Come out and support a great cause and cheer on the Hornets at Moon Field on Sunday.
