- Sophomore Taylor Belknap pitched a complete game shutout while only allowing two hits to earn her first victory of the season

- Freshman Stephanie Hogan led the way with four hits and two RBIs

- Senior Lauren Smith had was 3-5 to go along with 3 RBIs

Game 2 Breakdown

- Freshman Alex Cisar earned her first collegiate victory while pitching four scoreless innings and did allow a hit

-The Hornets jumped out to a 9-0 lead after just one inning

- Lynchburg would go on to score three runs in the second inning and five more in the fifth to put the mercy rule into effect

- Freshman Kayla Hugate led all batters with three hits

- Junior Jasmine Butler led the Hornets with three RBIs

- Freshmen Sarah Rideway, Kelsey Kinnamon, and sophomore Brittany Coffey all recorded two RBIs. Kinnamon's RBIs came off a homerun in the second inning

- Freshman Stephanie Hogan pitched the final inning as she struck out two batters

Staying on the road, the Hornets will travel to Bridgewater this Saturday for a conference double header that is scheduled to start at 1 pm.
