HOW IT HAPPENED
- Lynchburg out-shot the WildCats 7-0 in the first half but couldn't break through the Randolph defense.
- That changed in the 52nd minute when Randolph keeper Austin Collier chased down a loose ball at the top of the box. Pressured by Lynchburg's Fredy Flores (Alexandria, Va.), Collier tried to clear the ball, but his kick hit a WildCats defender and caromed into the net to put the Hornets in the lead.
- Lynchburg added to the lead three minutes later when Nate Berning (Chesapeake, Va.) played a ball into the box that Ashby finished with a header.
- The Hornets tacked on the final score in the 62nd minute when Ryan Mayolo (Ashburn, Va.) headed a ball across the box that Mitchell finished with one touch at close range.
The Hornets will head to Hampden-Sydney for another ODAC contest on Saturday at 7 p.m.
