Mount Berry, Ga. -- For the second straight day, the Lynchburg College men's soccer team earned a 1-0 victory over a Georgia-based foe as the Hornets buzzed past Berry College on Monday afternoon.

Senior forward Fredy Flores (Alexandria, Va.) finished a nice ninth-minute feed from Collin Kashmer (Halifax, Va.) for the game's lone score, and Dylan McLaurin (Stafford, Va.) made three saves in goal to preserve the shutout win.

HOW IT HAPPENED

- Lynchburg took an early lead with Flores' goal, which came on the first shot of the game.

- The Vikings nearly rebounded with a 10th-minute goal, but McLaurin saved Alex Perry's shot.

- Both of McLaurin's other saves came in the first 53 minutes of the game, after which Berry didn't record a shot-on-goal.

- The Hornets turned up the pressure in the waning minutes, as Sherman Mitchell (Southbury, Conn.), Austin Kues (High Point, N.C.), and Jon Mackey (Leesburg, Va.) each had scoring opportunities that Berry thwarted.
