Lynchburg, Va. -- The United States Intercollegiate Lacross Association (USILA) announced the Scholar All-Americans for collegiate lacrosse on Thursday and two senior Hornets, Cole Barrett and Harrison Brennan, were recognized. The award recognizes the top student-athletes that show excel on the field, in the classroom and in the community.
Barrett was the anchor of the Lynchburg defense this past Spring, collecting 39 ground balls and causing 23 turnovers both of which were career-highs.
Brennan was an aggressive midfielder who did not shy away from contact but also had the shooting touch. The Salisbury, Md. native scored twice as many goals as he had in his first three years, netting 25 this past season.
This is the third straight year Lynchburg has had student-athletes named USILA/Nike Scholar All-Americans. Chris Hower and Hunter Thompson earned the honor in 2015 while Dane Angell, Ryan Connors, and Austin Stewart were recognized in 2016.
