Lynchburg Baseball Adds Travis Beazley To Coaching Staff

Lynchburg, Va. -- Head Coach Lucas Jones announced the addition of Travis Beazley to the Lynchburg Baseball coaching staff on Tuesday. Beazley will assume his duties effective immediately.

Beazley, a 2006 graduate of Randolph-Macon College joins the Hornet coaching staff after spending the past six years as a member of the Virginia Military Institute coaching ranks. He served as an Assistant Coach from 2011-2014 and moved into an Associate Head Coach role in the beginning of 2015.

At VMI, Beazley was involved in all facets of the program, from academic mentorship to travel arrangements but his main duties were in the bullpen, training and developing the Keydets pitching staff. He also helped coach a member of the 2016 SoCon All-Freshmen Team, 2017 CoSIDA Academic All-District Team and 2017 SoCon Second Team All-Conference Team.

"I am elated to add Travis to the coaching staff and to serve as our pitching coach," says Head Coach Lucas Jones. "Travis brings intangibles to this program and to the ODAC that are hard to fine.  He is the model Division III story. He was an All-American at Randolph-Macon College, drafted by the Boston Red Sox and has coached at this level. Along with his excellent Division III and pro experience, he has done an outstanding job manning the pitching staff at VMI the last six seasons. He is a tremendous coach but an even better person."

His coaching career began at Randolph-Macon in 2010 following a four-year stint as a member of the Boston Red Sox minor league affiliates, where he pitched at the Single and Double A levels.  He was a highly decorated player at R-MC, earning All-American, All-Region, All-State, and All-Conference selections during his career.
